While it wasn’t an anniversary occasion, the legendary 50th Cattle Baron’s Ball on Saturday, October 14, was still indeed iconic at Southfork Ranch for more than 3,000.
Despite having some wristband hitches in the giddy-up, the committee of 100 women led by 2023 CBB Co-Chairs Andrea Cheek and Isabell Novakov Higginbotham plowed the rows to break past records with the help of Kilgore Rangerettes, area chefs, Neiman Marcus, the Randy Rogers Band, headliner Shania Twain and a jaw-dropping, paddle-raising live auction.
But the scene stealer of the night was teenage Ewing Sarcoma survivor, Ava Danuser, whose mom had been a CBB-er. In addition to ginning up the call for cash starting at $200K, Ava impressed Twain backstage just moments before Shania blew the roof off the mammoth tent. It was a special moment for both the legendary headliner and the young woman.
