While folks east of Six Flags may think collegiate football means SMU and Dallas sports know-it-alls, they need to take a refresher course.
The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs not only sweet-talked Sonny Dykes away from the Mustangs in 2021, but one of the Dallas Morning News’ longtime sports gurus — Randy Galloway — went west to write his columns for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram before retiring.
But like former WFAA sports curmudgeon Dale Hansen, who is going to be on the program for Community Council of Greater Dallas in November, Randy is coming unplugged with Sonny on Thursday, August 17, at Fort Worth’s PalmWood Event and Conference for the United Way of Tarrant County‘s “Get United” campaign.
Presented by Frost Bank, “Unplugged with Sonny Dykes and Randy Galloway” will have Fort Worth owned/operated Anthracite Realty Partners as lead sponsor and will be co-hosted by United Way of Tarrant County United committee members Amber and Jamie Adams.
According to former Arlington Mayor/”Get United” Co-Chair Jeff Williams, “We are committed to furthering the mission of serving the community and making real change in Tarrant County. It is an honor to partner with Randy and coach Dykes in bringing together like-minded people who share a passion for raising up the voices of those in need of support.”
Even if your home sports teams are Dallas branded, you just might want to mosey west for a night that’s sure to be a sports fest.
Sponsorships for the event are available here.
