If Santa is compiling a list of good girls and boys, the Junior League of Dallas has probably made their recommendation on whom should be at the top of his list — Pam Busbee. They’ve just sent word that they think so highly of her that they’ve named her the JLD’s 2023 Sustainer of the Year.
No surprise, after her countless years of community involvement and leadership within JLD. She “was instrumental in making the JLD Ball a success by serving on the Special Sponsor Committee in 1986, 1987 and 1990. She uses the training and knowledge gained in the League to help numerous non-profits and has quietly and steadfastly served her community in countless ways, always happy to be a supporter and never seeking a leadership position unless asked to do so.”
As proof of that, she has chaired the Callier Cares Luncheon, Wilkinson Center’s Can Do! Luncheon, The Milestone Luncheon, co-chaired A Chance To Soar and BeatLeukemia Ball and served on various boards including the Callier Center Foundation Board, Dallas CASA Advisory Board and Jonathan’s Place Board.
In addition to being a member of Crystal Charity Ball for 28 years, she is currently underwriting chair for The Senior Source’s 2023 Spirit of Generations Luncheon.
And for a touch of irony, Pam co-chaired the 2012 Celebrating Women Luncheon when the keynote speaker was actor Rob Lowe. When she is honored at the 2023 Milestone Luncheon on Friday, April 14, at Omni Dallas Hotel, the featured speaker will be Rob Lowe.

Congratulations! I cannot imagine anyone more deserving than Pam Busbee. During my time as grant writer for the Callier Center, I saw firsthand how she worked tirelessly on behalf of the organization. What better way to celebrate Pam’s efforts than to have Rob Lowe there for the presentation? Fun!
