JUST IN: Equest’s 40th Anniversary Gala: Celebrating 40 Years Of Horse Power Plans Revealed

Nov 18, 2020 9:30 AM by Jeanne Prejean

Equest has been making the rounds throughout Dallas for the past couple of years for its annual gala fundraiser. For this reason, many folks haven’t made the trek down to Texas Horse Park since Equest’s newest facility — the Al Hill Jr. Arena — was built.

Change is in the wind. 2021 Equest Co-Chairs Lisa and Kendall Laughlin and Katherine and Austin Wyker are herding the party back to Texas Horse Park for Equest’s 40th Anniversary Gala: Celebrating 40 Years Of Horse Power.

Both Lisa and Katherine have been involved with Equest for years by having served on the board of directors, as well as Lisa’s granddaughter, Elizabeth Laughlin, being an Equest client, and Katherine’s family foundation serving as a therapy horse sponsors and contributor to the Hill Arena capital campaign.

Taking place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, the occasion will “recognize and pay tribute” to past honorary chairs including: Susan Schwartz and Louise and Guy Griffeth (1980-1990); Steve Barnett and Dr. Candice Chandler (1990-2000); Pamela and Michael Petty (2000-2010); Carol and William Huckin and The Huckin/Lupton Family (2010-2020); and Julia and Blake Schwarz and Caitlin and Thomas Laughlin (2020 to the future).

In addition to a welcoming cocktail reception, seated dinner, live and silent auctions, there will be a performance by the Jordan Kahn Group’s 11-piece Walton Stout Band.

Sponsorship and ticket information will be on the Equest Gala website in January 2021.
