And the announcements and bargains keep rolling in. The Dallas Arboretum is the latest one to be busting with news. Once again The 12 Days of Christmas will be returning with its 25’-high Victorian gazebos thanks to Reliant from Saturday, November 9, thru Saturday, December 31.

But new this year will be The Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Family Christmas Village made up of charming themed houses ranging from 16 to 19 feet tall in the Pecan Grove. Inside guests will find “the interior walls of each house featuring illustrations and embellishments” appropriate for that business.

In the evening the village will flow thanks to a half-million lights as volunteers dressed as shopkeepers hand “out a sample of their wares, such a piece of candy at the candy shop.”

Adding to the holiday festivities will be visits by Santa for selfies with kids and choirs performing. The Arboretum folks have already arranged for a full moon to be in the sky the night of the annual tree-lighting ceremony that kicks off The 12 Days of Christmas at Night.

And the Arboretum isn’t waiting until it’s cashmere and hot-chocolate season to get the momentum going. On Thursday, July 25, they’re hosting “Christmas in July” featuring Santa, “Home Alone” in Rosine Hall, carolers and frozen treats from Pop Star and Botolino Gelato.

And for members, an added treat has been provided. Until Wednesday, August 14, they can get a “special pricing” of $5 per person for The 12 Days of Christmas at Night. If you’re not a member, then tickets will be available for $10 starting Thursday, August 15. Check here for the details.

According to Dallas Arboretum Board Chair Alan Walne, “The Dallas Arboretum has become known for holiday fun and its spectacular exhibits, including The 12 Days of Christmas. The Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Family Christmas Village will be a wonderful addition to our holiday experience. If you’ve wanted to join the Arboretum, now’s your time to do it so that you don’t miss out.”

But if you’re on a budget diet and/or can’t wait until November, the Arboretum is offering its $2 special in August. For just $2 a guest can wander through beautifully manicured grounds with towering trees and marvelous water features. An additional $2 will admit the guest to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. BTW, you don’t have to be or have a munchkin to enjoy the wonders of this marvelous area. This sweetheart deal is only available at the gate.
