It’s great to start the day off with fabulous news. And leave it to Girls Party Co-Chairs Maggie Kipp and Tara Lewis to provide it this morning.
They had promised surprises were in store for the Dallas Children’s Theater fundraiser, when they revealed that it would take place Thursday, April 3, at Nancy Carlson’s to-die-for estate.
Well, surprise! Linda Gray (aka “Sue Ellen,” as if you didn’t know) is going to be the honorary chair for the commemoration of “the theater’s 30 years of service to the community.”
Well, yahoo!!
According to Linda, “I love what Dallas Children’s Theater does. Every child needs a home like DCT where they can discover themselves. Whether you are an audience member or you’re on stage, theater allows you to use all of your senses in creative and imaginative ways. I’d say it is important food for the spirit and every child should get a taste of that in their formative years. How fortunate Dallas is to have a place dedicated to children and families year round. It’s a treasure I’m proud to be associated with.”
And how did Maggie and Tara land such an honorary coup? Well, they’re smart gals. They tap just the right resources to hit gold. In this case, their “resource” was DCT Board Chair Sharron Hunt, who arranged for Linda to come on board.
It will be interesting to see what other surprises Maggie and Tara have planned.
Tickets start at $150, but if you give $2,500 or more then you’re “invited to an event featuring DCT cast and crew members to get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create magic on stage.”
