To mark Mental Health Awareness Month in May, the Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation is teaming up with Communities Foundation of Texas to match donations, dollar for dollar, to North Texas non-profits focusing on mental health.
A total of $120,000 in matching funds from the Bhatia Foundation will be available for those making their donations using the CFT’s North Texas Giving Day website.
“Communities Foundation of Texas believes that health, including mental health, is a pillar of a thriving community,” CFT President and CEO Wayne White said in a statement. “The Bhatia Foundation is in their third year of serving as the North Texas Giving Day Cause Sponsor for two areas of work: Mental and Behavioral Health, and Intellectual, Development and Physical Differences.”
Individuals can use North Texas Giving Day’s online giving platform to increase the impact of their charity dollars through Wednesday, May 15, CFT said. To make donations to local non-profits providing mental health resources and care, go here.
The Mental Health matching campaign is CFT’s third fundraising campaign this year using its Giving Day platform with matching funds. The others were an economic security fundraising campaign with Charles Schwab Bank held from April 8-22, and a two-week giving campaign with The Giana Foundation Fund, also in April, for non-profits supporting the arts, culture and humanities.
The Schwab campaign wound up raising a total of $245,452, while the Giana effort raised $426,637. The next fundraising campaign with matching gifts will focus on animals and pets from Sunday, May 12 to Sunday, May 26, thanks to Gigi Gartner and CFT to the tune of $150,000 in available matching funds.
