While many are in other parts for spring break as scary weather approaches North Texas, there are two camps — either they have their reservations for Family Compass’ North Star Luncheon, or they’re shutting their eyes realizing they hadn’t due to being sidetracked by spring break.
Well, stop slathering on the sunscreen for your morning sun worship and/or catching the day’s black ski run and get hustling. There are only two tables left for the Family Compass fundraiser on Monday, April 29, at “a local country club” featuring Antwone Fisher.
While Luncheon Co-Chairs Neda Bahramnejad and Vanessa Fuquay are delighted at the support, they’re trying to make room for all to hear Antwone, whose life story is more than a memory maker. A child born in prison who immediately landed in the foster system, he not only wrote a best-selling book, “Finding Fish: A Memoir” about his journey, but he became the screenwriter for his life struggle starring and directed by Denzel Washington.
Presented by The Rosewood Corporation, this year’s luncheon will honor award-winning registered dietitian nutritionist Neva Cochran with the North Star Award.
