From private health insurance and insurance through their employers to government programs, folks seem to be bombarded with all types of healthcare options. While it’s so confusing how and what to sign up for, the opportunities are out there for those who qualify.
But, what about those adults who are uninsured despite the passage of the Affordable Health Care Act in March 2010? According to Christ’s Family Clinic, “25% of all Texans, over four million people, remain uninsured and lack access to health care.”
That’s why the Clinic’s mission it to “provide high-quality health care to the uninsured in an atmosphere of dignity and respect, regardless of race or religion.”
Located on the ground floor of Preston Road Church of Christ, the clinic provides such services as Comprehensive Primary Care for Adults, Preventative Health Care, Well-Woman and Well-Man Annual Physical Exams, Mammograms, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Diabetes Treatment and Prevention Classes, Laboratory Testing, Referrals to Ancillary Services, Dermatology, Surgical Consultations, Limited Dentistry and Specialty Referrals such as Cardiology, Endocrinology, Orthopedics and Podiatry by appointment Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In addition to needing volunteers for the Clinic, funding is also needed.
To provide financial support, “The Art Of Caring For Others Art Auction And Reception” will take place at “a local country club.” The evening will include an “art auction, showcasing the masterpieces of local artists,” as well as a VIP reception, a silent auction, dinner and program featuring Diane and Daryl Johnston.
According to Christ’s Family Clinic Executive Director Haley Dale, “We’re honored to have Diane and Daryl Johnston join us and share their passion for supporting vital healthcare services. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.”
With sponsorships starting at $2,500, individual tickets are $300 and are available here.
