Dallas leaders are stepping out of their comfort shoes to support the Dallas Independent School District. On Wednesday, November 1, some well-known locals are showing their finest moves for the Dallas Education Foundation‘s “The Heart Of Teaching.”
So, who are the brave “soles?” Honorary Chair Ron Kirk has finagled DISD Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde, Texas House of Representatives member Rafael Anchia, Judge Clay Jenkins, former Dallas City Councilmember Jennifer Staubach Gates, WFAA’s Cynthia Izaguirre and Dallas Education Foundation Board Chair Victor Vital to show their best moves at the Longhorn Ballroom with the help of DISD dance teachers.
The evening’s production will be handled by the DISD theater teachers. Providing the evening’s musical background will be a Pops Ensemble and a Cover Band.
In addition to the dance competition, there will an auction of art donated by visual teachers.
The evening’s proceeds will “support the Dallas Education Foundation that supports early learning, advances literary and drives post-secondary success for 142,000 students of DISD.”
Sponsorships and tickets for the evening of cocktails and competition are available here.
