What a great way to kick off September! Two groups have just launched online applications/nominations. They’re great opportunities to salute the heroes/heroines in North Texas and to open up a chance to receive grants to help Dallas County kiddos.

First, 2023 Obelisk Awards Co-Chairs Rachael and Evan Singer have opened the online nominations for the 2023 Business Council for the Arts (BCA) fundraiser. The categories include Arts Partnerships, New Initiatives, Arts Education, Business Champion For The Arts, Outstanding Leadership Arts Alumnus, Visionary Non-Profit Arts Leader and Distinguished Cultural Organization.

The recipients will be honored at the annual luncheon on Thursday, November 9, at the Dallas Arts District JW Marriott.

Second, 2024 Crystal Charity Ball Chair Cheryl Joyner and 2024 CCB Charity Selection Chair Kim Quinn have just put the 2024 CCB beneficiary application online for downloading by Dallas County children’s non-profits.

After reviewing the form, it might be wise to put the Application Orientation meeting at 9 a.m. on September 13 on the calendar. Taking place at Communities Foundation of Texas, 5500 Caruth Haven Lane, the brief meeting is not mandatory but it is encouraged.

Applications cannot be sent via email. They must be physically in the CCB offices by noon on Friday, October 13.

FYI: Don’t submit the materials with hardware (staples, binders, binder clips, spiral binding, notebooks or other bindings). Only collated copies bound with rubber bands will be accepted.

Why not settle back for the three-day Labor Day holiday weekend and check out the opportunities provided by BSA and CCB? You just find something to submit.
