According to 29 Acres Development Coordinator Kayli Webster,

“At 29 Acres, our mission is to ensure that people living with autism and other neurodiversities have community and a safe place to live where opportunity and happiness are the standard. We serve the full spectrum of autism and neurodiversity and have many ways for individuals to get involved, whether it is through our Enrich services, Employment services or Transition Academy.
“Our Enrich support services take place in Cross Roads, Dallas, and their surrounding communities, and are designed to model a typical adult life. We host a Day Program in both Cross Roads and Dallas for adults who live in their family home but want to take part in our Enrich services two to five days of the week. The residents who live at our living community in Cross Roads also participate in optional (and encouraged) daily opportunities and experiences designed to enrich lives, promote a healthy lifestyle and improve overall quality of life and well-being both within our community and beyond.
“29 Acres Employment Services provides individualized support for customers seeking competitive, integrated employment. We specialize in customized employment services to meet the unique career goals of everyone seeking job placement and offer job skill training, supported employment and readiness classes.
“Our Transition Academy is a two-year residential program partnered with Texas Woman’s University that acts as a launchpad into independent living. The three major components of this program include living in our transitional housing, learning crucial independent living and career readiness skills through a proven curriculum and gaining work experience through internships and jobs.

“Another way we encourage individuals to get involved is by joining us for Club 29 each month! Club 29 is a monthly night social club hosted by 29 Acres for individuals (ages 16+) with autism and other neurodiversities. It is open to individuals all around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex who are looking for a fun social event!
“Over the past four years, Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day has been extremely impactful for 29 Acres, and we are looking forward to another successful year with a goal of $125,000. The money raised will go toward scholarships that add programming for adults who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend 29 Acres with our Club 29, Enrich and Transition Academy services. It will also help us continue our adaptive sports program, including our boat program which has helped teach our clients about water safety, as well as how to tube and wake-surf! Lastly, it will enable 29 Acres to continue serving individuals who are seeking employment by providing them with individualized support and job coaching. Many clients today have jobs they love in cybersecurity, entertainment, hospitality and so much more.
“We are honored to be a part of North Texas Giving Day 2023 and look forward to raising support for our organization that will impact these adults for years to come.”
