With the football season kicking off throughout North Texas, Goodwill Industries of Dallas is bringing home one of its native sons for The Lunch fundraiser. On Friday, October 13, The Lunch Co-Chairs Julie Durham Rado and Steve Durham have arranged to have Dallas native son/former New Orleans Saints/Super Bowl MVP quarterback Drew Brees as the keynote speaker at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
According to Goodwill Dallas President/CEO Tim Heis, “We’re excited to have Drew join us to hear his perspective on the significance of uplifting individual community members in order to uplift the community as a whole.”
Presented by JPMorgan Chase And Co., this year’s fundraiser is celebrating its 100 years “of being the #1 non-profit in North Texas helping individuals with barriers to employment.”
In accepting the invitation to keynote the event, Drew said, “I am proud to come to Dallas to support this great cause. Creating life change by helping individuals with barrier to employment build skills, find jobs and reach their long-term life goals is a win for absolutely everyone.”
As the non-profit’s largest fundraiser, this year’s goal is to raise $1.6M and to beat last year’s “record-breaking” attendance of 800. Since its inception, The Lunch has raised “more than $11M” for Goodwill Dallas’ Workforce Development Program.
While no individual tickets will be available, sponsorships ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 are available now until Monday, September 18.
