Since the main topic of the day has been the summer heat of 2023, it might help to start thinking about cooler topics. For instance? How about Halloween? That’s exactly what’s been on the minds of the 17th Annual Change is Good Co-Chair Families Jenny and Patrick Babb with their kids Caroline, Connor and Kenneth and Lexi and Chris Jewell with their youngsters Callahan and Colsen.
Since the Community Partners of Dallas fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, October 29, it’s a marvelous warmup for the big night ahead as well as an opportunity for youngsters to learn about helping other children.
As Jenny said, “Our hearts are filled with purpose as we work together with our kids, and others, to teach them about making a positive impact on the community in which we live.”
Returning to Turtle Creek Park, the festivities will start at 2 p.m. with children turning in the change that they have collected to support CPD’s mission of supporting abused and neglected children in Dallas County.
According to Lexi, “As Dallas residents, we have a responsibility to make sure those most neglected in our community receive the care they need. As parents, we have a responsibility to raise our children to become caring and compassionate adults. Change is Good provides an amazing opportunity to do both.”
In addition to taking over Arlington Hall, this year’s afternoon of games, activities (Porch Pumpkins’ pumpkin painting, Halloween bounce houses, a mini-manicure station with Essie nail polish, the bubble truck, Camp Crafty Parties’ slime station, crafts, etc.) and loads of yummy treats will also hold forth in a major air-conditioned tent, just like last year.
But the big highlight of the day presented by CrossFirst Bank will be the great reveal of the top fundraisers and the winners of the 2023 T-shirt artwork contest.
