When the After-School All-Stars North Texas’ Rising Stars Luncheon post had been written, half of the Hall on Dragon had been sold. That was last Wednesday.
Now word has arrived that the Wednesday, May 10, fundraiser is sold out.
Why? For three reasons.
First, former Dallas Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki is the featured speaker.
Second, the honoree is hardworking attorney and dedicated fundraiser Gina Betts.
Third, the cause that “provides programs and transformative opportunities that help students develop the skills, knowledge, and habits needed to succeed in life, school, and their future career” has a diehard group of volunteers supporting it.
While there has been a rumor that, following the pandemic, fundraising luncheons lost their popularity, the month of May’s sold-out flurry of lunches seems to challenge that way of thinking.
