Established in 2010 by Bev Davis, Devon Davis and Amy Hite, Spark! has had a mission to “provide children from second grade to high school with a fully immersive creative environment and hands-on learning that develops their self-definition as creative individuals.”
Located in the South Side on Lamar building just past Gilley’s Dallas, Spark! has been a favorite spot for birthday parties, party rentals, art exhibitions and, of course, its summer camp of eight weeks of workshops (drawings, painting, ceramics, photography, cosmic creations, animation, film-making and theater) for youngsters from 7 to 13 years of age.
With all that activity, it’s not a surprise that Dallas non-profit vet Meg Bittner should come on board as executive director.
Before officially taking over the responsibilities, Meg had been volunteer coordinator at The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, Program Director – Volunteer and In-Kind and Retail Services and Volunteer and In-Kind Donations Manager at The Family Place and most recently senior director at the Dallas Arboretum.

We hated to lose her at the Dallas Arboretum but are so happy for her and wish her the best. Spark! Is in great hands!
