The Sweetheart Ball has no website, no social media, no office. What it has is a committee of women who have volunteered to raise millions of dollars for the prevention and treatment of heart disease. Some have had family members who have succumbed to the disease; others have had loved ones saved thanks to developments resulting from their fundraising efforts.

The funds have been raised through a one-night gala — The Sweetheart Ball. To provide an update on UT Southwestern’s work and plans for the next fundraiser, 2023 Sweetheart Ball Chair Amy Prestidge arranged for committee members including Vicki Chapman, Nancy Dedman, Rusty Duvall, Heather Furniss, Margaret Hancock, Alinda Wykert, Lynne Sheldon, newbies Jeanne Whitman Bobbitt, Diane Byrd and Lori Jones and UT Southwestern Drs. Daniel Podolsky, Joseph Hill, Darren McGuire, Thomas Wang and John Warner, to attend a tea to at Ola Fojtasek’s home on Monday, October 17.
