What a week it’s been! Between the cheers and tears of a reign’s end on Monday and today’s fundraising marathon, it just might be time to sit back for a good laugh or two.
As luck would have it, Simply Grace is hosting the “Simply Hilarious Comedy Show” Friday.
On Gilley’s Dallas South Side Music Hall stage will be headliner Mark Lundholm, who has appeared on Comedy Central, Showtime, A&E, CBS and NBC. In addition to creating the DVD series “Humor in Treatment” and the Recovery Board Game, he wrote and performed off-Broadway in his own one-man show.
Opening the evening will be Ty Cardaci, who blends his experience, strength and hope with humor through his “The Healing Power Of Laughter,” “Mindfulness Meditation” and “Addiction-Recovery.”
According to Simply Grace organizers, “Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemical and can even reduce pain.”
Tickets range from $25 for general admission to $500 for VIP Tables.
Funds raised from Simply Hilarious will support Simply Grace’s mission to provide a “safe, structured environment to assist women recovering from substance abuse, help to rebuild their lives and achieve long-term recovery.”
