According to Ruby Red Gala Chair Sharon Ballew,
“The Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is celebrating! This is the 40th anniversary of the organization whose purpose is to maintain and to continue to develop ‘A Woman’s Garden,’ the centerpiece garden of the Dallas Arboretum.
“To mark the special year, President Sarah Jo Hardin and The Women’s Council have planned a week-long celebration entitled ‘A Noble Celebration.’
“The week begins with the annual luncheon fundraiser, A Writer’s Garden, on Tuesday, October 18. This special event will feature Lady Carnarvon, The Right Honorable Countess of Carnarvon. She will discuss living at Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey is filmed. Honorary Chairs of A Writer’s Garden are Donna and Herb Weitzman along with Therese Rourk and Dyann Skelton as event co-chairs.

“The finale of ‘A Noble Celebration’ will be the Ruby Red Gala on Friday, October 21. This event includes a champagne reception, seated dinner paired with wine and dancing with music provided by Emerald City’s Limelight Band. Honorary Chairs of the Ruby Red Gala are Dr. Linda Burk and Dr. John R. Gilmore.
“Net proceeds benefit A Woman’s Garden, tickets can be purchased online at www.wcdabg.org.”
