Despite having surgery scheduled just two days later, 2022 Callier Cares Luncheon Chair Stacey Walker had arranged for a program to show how the generosity of a long-ago North Texas philanthropist had benefited a six-year old youngster.
Before the event at the Dallas Country Club on Monday, April 11, had even started, the VIP types like Foundation for Callier Center for Communication Disorders President Beth Thoele, past Foundation Presidents Tricia George and Emilynn Wilson, new Trustee Karen Toliver, Callier Center Executive Director Dr. Angela Shoup and longtime supporters like Di Johnston filled the Founders Room along with Joe French, who had been instrumental with the late David Bruton Jr., in establishing one of the first charitable trusts in Texas, with Callier Center for Communication Disorders being one of the beneficiaries.
Still another guest was a good-looking red-haired Christian Braden, whose family and his own life had changed dramatically thanks to French and Bruton.
