According to Wilkinson Center Engagement Manager Laura Ingrim,
“For the past 35 years, the Carlin Morris Back-to-School Drive through Wilkinson Center has provided shoes and school supplies to thousands of families in Dallas County.
“This year, Wilkinson Center will provide shoe vouchers from Shoe Carnival for 600 children and backpacks full of school supplies for 200 children in grades kindergarten through high school. For many of these children, their new pair of shoes will be the only ones they have this school year. And without our backpacks full of supplies, some children would have to start the school year empty-handed.
“With the recent pandemic and interruption in learning, it is more important than ever for kids to start the school year off right with necessary supplies. We are asking the community to support us by donating towards the purchase of these supplies by Saturday, August 7.”
