For the past 25 years, Dallas CASA‘s Parade of Playhouses has marched in place to raise funds for Dallas CASA and to find backyards for the mini-mansions. And this year won’t be different. Well, it will be a little different.
The collection of ten playhouses will still be on display at NorthPark for 17 days from Friday, July 10 thru Sunday, July 26. They’ll also be viewable on the Parade of Playhouse website.
But to provide “limited-contact safe precautions for staff, volunteers and guests due to the global COVID-19 outbreak,” raffle tickets to win one of the cottages will only be available online. They’ll be going for $5 each or five tickets for $20.

According to Dallas CASA CEO Kathleen LaValle, “We’ve enlisted local designers, architects and builders who are donating their designs, time and construction to raise awareness about the needs of children living in foster care. This year we hope that the community will enjoy seeing the houses in any way they feel comfortable.”
And because this year marks the Parade’s 25th anniversary, longtime builder LRO Residential will install its “Summer House” on Friday, July 3, to provide a sneak peek.
The class of 2020 Parade builders and architects include Austin Commercial, Balfour Beatty, The Beck Group, Brasfield And Gorrie LLC, Butscher Construction, Corgan, Crest Cadillac/Crest Infiniti/Crest Volvo, Duda Paine Architects, Gensler, Harmon, HKS, Holder Construction, Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc., LRO Residential and Structure Tone Southwest.
In addition to “Summer House,” this year’s crop of playhouses includes “Mini Parkland” by Austin Commercial and Corgan; “Skybox” by Holder Construction and Duda Paine Architects; “Roam The Sea” by Structure Tone Southwest; and “Harvest House” from Kimley-Horn and Associates and Balfour Beatty.
Making a return appearance will be KDC as grand marshal, Presenting Sponsor Crest Cadillac/Crest Infiniti/ Crest Volvo and Parade Host NorthPark Center.
