The coronavirus has just claimed another children’s nonprofit fundraiser — the 2020 Children’s Cancer Fund Gala scheduled for Friday, April 17, at the Hilton Anatole.

Children’s Cancer Fund Executive Director Jennifer Arthur reported that after having “close talks with Children’s Medical Center and the Executive Board, we regretfully made the difficult decision to cancel upcoming events. Sadly, this includes the 2020 Children’s Cancer Fund Gala and Patron Party.”
The decision was “made to protect this year’s young models and the entire Children’s Cancer Fund community, which includes the event’s many backstage volunteers, largely comprised of health care professionals, and the more than 1,000 supporters and attendees.”
2020 Gala Co-Chairs Jamie O’Banion and Holly Davis added, “These precious children deserve a night to shine, and we are heartbroken. We personally ask our community to stand with us to ensure these kids do not lose the support they need. If you have already given, please allow 100 percent of your donation to stand. If you have not yet given, please consider sending a donation to CCF to help bridge the gap of funds lost due to the cancellation.”
