Anyone who think the Cattle Baron’s Ball members are one-note fundraisers, they should have been at The Stoneleigh Hotel on Thursday, April 25. The point of the 2019 Research Symposium was to hear about the progress in cancer research resulting from CBB’s funding. Symposium Co-Chairs Kris Johnson, Hollee Hirzel, Amanda Shufeldt and Melissa Sherrill-Martin had arranged for Mary Kay to sponsor the presentation by UT Southwestern Medical Center Professor Melanie Cobb and UT Southwestern Radiation Oncology Director of Information Technology and Clinic Innovation Dr. Kenneth Westover.

But before the symposium started, the CBB-ers like 2019 CBB Co-Chairs Wendy Messmann and Lisa Shirley, Jennifer Burns, Annika Cail, Daniella Giglio, Andrea Nayfa, Theresa Bando, Cara French and Skylar Baty were in overload catching up. Megan Flanagan, who suffered an ugly ankle break late last year appeared ready for a triathlon thanks to a heavy-duty ramp up of therapy. Instead of three hours of therapy for nine months, she did a full-day of therapy in three months. One of the contributing factors was a certain fancy blonde’s providing a driver to help the young mom get around for three months.
And then there was Melissa Sherrill-Martin introducing her sis-in-law Ginger Martin, who is The Stoneleigh Hotel’s general manager…Amy Green, whose beloved Yorkie Precious died last year, was mending with blond tresses…Amanda Schufeldt, who was co-chairing the Dallas Museum of Art’s 2019 Art Ball the following Saturday was carrying a that had been a gift from her Co-Chair Lisa Collins.
