Goodness! When the announcement was made about the Nonprofit Media Panel slated for Friday, August 17, the planners thought a couple dozen folks would sign up. Then when the original morning event was moved to the afternoon, the organizers thought maybe it would be less. Good thing the strategists didn’t buy any lottery tickets!
The response has been hotter than this past July. It’s even surpassing past numbers! Perhaps it’s because the panel is
- made up of WFAA’s Ron Corning, PaperCity’s Christina Geyer, Dallas Morning News’ Deborah Fleck, prima photographer Kristina Bowman and MySweetCharity’s Jeanne Prejean;
- being held at the state-the-art Brain Performance Institute;
- going to be an afternoon affair starting with registration at 2 p.m. and the panel kicking off at 2:30 p.m. and finishing up with a Q&A; and/or
- free.
Now, the folks at the Brain Performance Institute have added an additional perk to the event. It’s sort of a wine tour! No, they’re not schlepping everyone to Napa. Rather, they’re going to serve wine following the panel* and, for the curious, they’ll provide a tour of their amazing facility.
While you don’t have to sign up ahead of time for the wine and/or tour, you do have to register for the panel. But better not put it off much longer. Spaces are being gobbled up.

Just send the following info here: your name, nonprofit association, phone # and email address
This event is an opportunity to learn how the media works with nonprofit news and events. If you have a client or a boss who wonders why it’s a challenge to get coverage in today’s media, get them registered and bring ‘em along. They just might appreciate you even more.
* Please note: Wine will be served after the panel, not before for fear that the panelists might get rowdy.
