Friends Of Greer Garson Gala Were All Smiles At Private Social Wednesday

Feb 4, 2013 11:30 AM by Jeanne Prejean

While the MySweetCharity elves were putting the finishing touches of the new MSC calendar Wednesday, a note-taking stringer reported from the field about the Friends of Greer Garson Gala happy hour at Private Social:

Chris and Jennifer LeLash and Aaron and Brooke Shelby

“The event was a great success with about 75 people in attendance. Jennifer and Chris LeLash, the 2013 Gala Chairs, started off the evening’s remarks by welcoming guests and thanking everyone for their continued support of the Greer Garson Gala. Jennifer Buxton, Chair of the Friends of GGG, and Rachel Fresquez, Honorary Chair of the Friends of GGG, let guests know about the two raffle items (women’s and men’s) for the evening, compliments of West Village. Raffle tickets were $10 each. Details of the packages are below:

  • “West Village Experience Package – Men’s: Custom shirt, cufflinks, and pocket square from Q Clothier; $50 to PD Johnson’s; Airbrush Tan by Lash Studio; 2 VIP movie tickets to the Magnolia Theatre; Hydroflask and 1 month unlimited membership to Bikram Yoga; 1 month unlimited to InCinR8 Fitness Studio; Romantic dinner for two at Cru and two tickets to GGG 2013.
  • “West Village Experience Package – Women’s:  Cuff from Kendra Scott Jewelry; full set of silk lashes from Lash Studio; House of Harlow Clutch from L.bartlett;  $50 to PD Johnson’s; complimentary manicure from Nail Bar; Grande to-go pack of gelato from Pacuigo (serves up to 15 people); Hydroflask and 1 month unlimited membership to Bikram Yoga; 2 VIP Movie tickets to the Magnolia Theatre and Jessica Simpson sunglasses and $100 gift card to y&i clothing boutique and two tickets to GGG 2013.

“Signature cocktails served during the event — Gin-ger Mule, Jayne Says Swizzle, and Fall into a Glass — were created by Rocco and paid tribute to the LeLash’s favorite New Orleans restaurant, ‘Commander’s Palace:’ $1 from each signature cocktail was donated to GGG, which benefits Texas Health Presbyterian Foundation and the Women and Infant Services of the Margot Perot Center. Guests snacked on a variety of appetizers including Steamed Pork Buns, Smoked Tomato Shooters garnished with grilled cheese slivers, and Roasted Marshmallow Milkshakes and warm cookies.

“In attendance were 2012 Greer Garson Gala Chair and current Cattle Baron’s Ball Co-chair, Brooke Shelby, and her husband Aaron Shelby, Maggie Kipp, Rick Fresquez and GGG 2013 Underwriting Chair Janet Fresquez, Angela Choquette, Angela Nash, Debby Jett Allbright, Gay Donnell (she won one of the raffle baskets. Fun fact: Gay and Jennifer LeLash met at a Mommy and Me class at Presby when their babies were just months old!), Jay McCauley – President of Texas Health Presbyterian Foundation, Ashley and JR Cook, and Aneeta Goomar.

“The 2013 Greer Garson Gala, An Evening in Cannes, will take place Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.  Hunter Sullivan will be the musical guest, but like you have never seen him before!”

And remember the Gala benefits the Women and Infant Services in the Margot Perot Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.
