While the Turtle Creek Park Conservancy crowd talked “horse sense” in the Design District at the 2024 Day At The Races reveal, The Stewpot Alliance‘s 2024 Soup’s On! patrons like Margie and Ray Francis and Janet Keckeisen and The Stewpot Executive Director Brenda Snitzer and her husband David Snitzer were happily celebrating the recent Stewpot fundraiser at Kay and Gene Lunceford‘s home in North Dallas on Wednesday, February 28.
With Soup’s On! veteran Chef Danyele McPherson cooking up delicious items in the Lunceford kitchen with its longer than an RV and piece of art by The Stewpot clients in a sitting room, the house was filled with wonderful aromas and sights.
Immediately upon arriving in the sleek, contemporary home, KRLD/money guru David Johnson proclaimed, “This is my favorite home.” He was surrounded by similar reviews by other guests.
David and his wife/longtime Stewpot volunteer Debbie Johnson were back from one of their bucket-list destinations — Antarctica. The original scheduled date had to be postponed due to the pandemic resulting in their rescheduled trip taking place at the same time as the 2024 Soup’s On! fundraiser at The Thompson.
Speaking of which, Soup’s On! Chief Chef Brian Luscher, longtime supporter/2023 Soup’s On! Co-Chair Christy Coltrin and Luncheon Co-Chairs Leah Jordan and Eric Swindle and Michelle and Rudy Segura were smiling when asked if the luncheon featuring Father Greg Boyle had met the $100,000 match.
That news, as well as the final tally of the day’s take, will be revealed at a later date.
As Kay managed to welcome all, she was asked about her mom, Mary Reynolds, who had been present in years past. Not to worry. Mary was happily dog-sitting the Luncefords’ three pooches in her home just a few steps away.
