If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out the MySweetCharity Calendar or any other North Texas calendar about April fundraisers, don’t. It’s enough to give vapors to the most strong-hearted type.
Now, stop collapsing and gird your botoxed brows to new levels of smooth. It will be a breeze except for a handful of exceptions that will send Solomon shivering under his blankets or have a traffic cop turning in her/his badge.
The collision dates that will force philanthropists of all stages to make heart-breaking choices are:
- Friday, April 5 evening — Cristo Rey Dallas’ Grow the Grove at The Thompson Hotel and Children’s Medical Center Foundation’s Family Night at Six Flags
- Thursday, April 18 noon — Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum’s Mad Hatter’s Luncheon at the Arboretum, Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas’ Woman to Woman at The Fairmont Dallas and VolunteerNow’s Hearts Of Texas at Dallas Arts District Mansion
- Friday, April 19 noon – Children’s Medical Center Plano’s Legacy of Love at Renaissance Hotel Legacy West, Grant Halliburton Foundation’s Beacon of Hope at the Omni Dallas Hotel and Rainbow Days’ Pot Of Gold at Westin Galleria Dallas
- Friday, April 19 evening — Dallas CASA’s Cherish the Children at the Omni Dallas Hotel and Children’s Cancer Fund’s Gala at the Hilton Anatole
- Saturday, April 27 evening — Equest’s Blue Ribbon Gala at Hilton Anatole and DIFFA Dallas’ House Of DIFFA at Sheraton Dallas
Holy moly! April is sprouting a heck of a lot of charities competing for much-needed attention and fundraising. If you thought about attending just one or two of the events, reconsider. Adding just one more to your agenda would be a big boost to one more non-profit.
