The corner of Greenville Avenue and Lovers Lane is notorious for its dosey-doe of drivers trying to cross. As bad as it may have been in morning and evening drives, Friday is going to have added players — the delivery of beer trucks, metal barriers and porta-cans.
It’s all in preparation for Saturday’s 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade And Festival presented by Dallas Mavs.
But there are some additional challenges to this year’s activities. Following Thursday’s afternoon of thunderstorms, the overnight and Friday weather scene is gonna be off-and-on wet.
And wouldn’t you know that the wet stuff isn’t going to end until later Sunday. Even then the temperatures are not going to be tank-top and Daisy Dukes shorts friendly.
Doesn’t matter. With former Dallas Stars legend Mike Modano as the parade’s honorary grand marshal, it will still be an occasion to cheer.
Afterward Mike is going to the American Airlines Center for the debut of his official statue. You can either follow Mike down to the Center to watch him at the ceremony or head to your fav or newly discovered fav hangout along Greenville to celebrate the Irish holiday.
BTW, if the parade isn’t in your game plan, get your errands along Greenville Avenue done before things start getting busy Friday afternoon.
