There’s absolutely nothing like an Oscar. Whether it’s an Academy Award statue or some deliciously gorgeous gown, the very mention of the name ignites thoughts of top-drawer occasions.
That’s why 2024 Crystal Charity Ball Chair Cheryl Joyner and 2024 CCB Ten Best Dressed Fashion Show Chair Kim Hext are over-the-top about having Oscar de la Renta as the featured designer for this fall’s 50th CCB fashion show.
Needless to say, Oscar and CCB are a marvelous pair that have surpassed the test of time. In the CCB fashion show history, Oscar designs have been featured on five previous occasions. This sixth presentation will “make it the most viewed collection presentation since the event’s inception in 1974.”
Not only will Oscar Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia be at the fundraiser taking place on Thursday, September 12, at Neiman Marcus Downtown, they’ll also be part of the must-attend patron party the night before.
The next item on the fashionable agenda will be the announcement of the Ten Best Dressed and Hall of Famer, which will be made in early April. The presentation of the Ten BD-ers recognizes women with a “sense of style who are also deeply committed to community service.”
If you thought previous CCB fashion shows/luncheons were quick sell-outs, this one just may be record breaker.
WARNING: Please don’t slam the CCB office with reservation requests yet. Just let your plastic chill until late April, when tickets and tables will be available.
