There’s absolutely nothing more painful than picking between two favorites when it comes to North Texas fundraising. But that’s a situation that may be on the horizon, given official and under-the-table words that have been shared by area supporters.
The collision is supposedly taking place on Saturday, September 28, following the first day of the 2024 State Fair of Texas.
So, what’s the big deal? Depends on whether you’re of the coutier gown/black-tie/champagne set supporting the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, or the 3,000+ partyhardy lambskin jeans/ostrich boots gals and pals backing the American Cancer Society of North Texas.
Unofficially, both fundraiser organizers have passed the word to their committees and sponsors that their funders are taking place on the same dadgummit night.
While the two groups tend to draw different crowds, it’s still a lesson to be learned for others scheduling fundraisers in North Texas.
Word to the wise: North Texas non-profits that have their dates planned should not let the January chill hold you back. Get your date on the calendars, or your supporters may be faced with a Solomon’s choice.
Here’s the link to the MySweetCharity Calendar Event submission link. It’s absolutely free unless you want to dress it up with extras.
