Wednesday evening Monica and Joe Eastin opened their Bluffview contemporary home for the 2024 Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Dallas Fashion Show and Luncheon kick-off party. Greeting the 75+ guests like Pam Busbee, Jennifer and Richard Dix, Laura Downing, Suzy Gekiere, Margaret and Barry Hancock, Ramona Jones, Kimber and Michael Hartmann, Kim Quinn, newlyweds Jan and John Tatum, Nancy Scripps, Lisa Troutt, Katherine Wyker, Katie Leyendecker and Victoria Snee at the door were 2024 SAWA Dallas President Candace Winslow and SAWA Dallas Fashion Show Chair Shannon Graham, who was clad in “Salvation Army red.”
In the foyer, designer Patti Flowers stood next to a sketch of a flowing red dress that she is creating to be a part of the fashion show. As she explained to guests, the red dress has become an icon on the runway each year and then is sold at auction following the show. Last year’s dress was purchased by 2023 Auxiliary President Jennifer Dix, who wore it to the Crystal Charity Ball in December.
In addition to previewing the Patti Flowers design and Major Dawn McFarland addressing the guests, Shannon and Candace recognized Kathie King, who will receive the Margot Perot Service Award, and Honorary Chair Shelle Sills. They also announced that Highland Park Village would again serve as presenting sponsor, with Robyn Chauvin returning as fashion show producer.
For those guests signing up for patron level, there will be a party hosted by Tucker and Rich Enthoven at their Preston Hollow home in April.
Since its inception in 1993, the event has raised more than $15 million to support services provided at 14 North Texas Salvation Army facilities.
Sponsorships and tickets for the fundraiser just went on sale here.
