The definition of a coffee break is “a short mid-morning rest period granted to employees in business and industry.” So, Saturday is going to be a “temperature break” for North Texas folks from the sizzling times of the 2023 summer.
Okay, so it’s gonna be nothing compared to the frigid days starting on Monday, January 30. Still it may be an appetizer of the main course to come with wake-up temps in the 50’s.
With that in mind, why not take it as the perfect time to prepare the house… or estate… for the frigid times ahead? Yes, it’s time to check the heating system, the window and door leaks and faucet covers.
And don’t stop there. Start pulling out those duvets, digging up those soup recipes and checking your vehicles for their winter preparedness.
Not to throw a wrench in the planning, but please remember that along with the transition from summer to winter, Mother Nature tends to throw a gust of wind that is accompanied with hail, flash floods, tornadoes and their first cousin straight-line winds. Make sure that your insurance is up to date.
In the meantime, try out that heating blanket for an overnight test run because tomorrow morning is going to greet you with temperatures in the 50s.
