There’s no doubt that besides the two-legged types on the Katy Trail, there are a heck of a lot of four-legged critters joining them. So, it’s only natural that the Friends of the Katy Trail is holding the Katy Trail Dog Adoption Event sponsored by Clay Cooley Auto Group.
Taking place at the Trail’s Snyder’s Union on Saturday, October 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, the event will feature a crew of cuties like Shikoku that are looking for a best friend “furever.”
According to Ann Whitley Wood, “The background on this is that Friends of the Katy Trail has had occasional Dallas Animal Services pet adoptions on the Trail in the past and then sought to create a once-a-season program of adoption and secure a sponsor. I read on your site about the adoption event Ciara Cooley arranged for Dallas Animal Services adoption event at a dealership, and DAS also suggested that Clay Cooley Auto Group might be interested in becoming our sponsor. The Cooleys will help us bring Dallas Animal Services pet adoptions each season to the Trail in the coming year. Ciara kindly said yes and FKT is so grateful!”
With Dallas Animal Services in way overload capacity and rescue groups struggling as well, this event is incredibly timely.
To help make the love connection more enticing, all adoptions are free.
If your GPS isn’t acting accurately, Snyder’s Union is located between the Blackburn and Cambrick entrance.
Weatherguessers are predicting Saturday’s weather is going to be spectacular, so why not take a stroll on the Trail and maybe head home with a new roomie?
