If your August calendar has looked rather ho-hum due to the three-digit heat broiler and you can only see “Barbie” so many times, take heart. The Legal Hospice of Texas has provided a cool solution to your cabin fever.
On the evening of Saturday, August 26, it will hold its “Fashion Cited” at The Empire Room with Dallas City Councilman Chad West as honorary chair and fashions focusing on “Little Black Dress” with a completion, which highlights fashion design students from colleges of the North Texas area.
Established by local fashion designer Francisco Flores in 2006, the fundraiser was the result of LHT’s providing support for Francisco and his husband Jeff Cook when “Jeff’s former employer wrongfully stopped his disability benefits.”
The evening’s proceeds will support “Legal Hospices of Texas’ mission to help take care of the legit needs of those with terminal illness.” With tickets starting at $100, sponsorships are also available here.
