While the 2023 Crystal Charity Ball committee is hard at work even despite the scorching heat, 2024 CCB Chair Cheryl Joyner and Charity Selection Chair Kim Quinn have already laid out the plans for the selection of the 2024 fundraiser.

At the end of this month, the application forms will be available online, at the CCB offices (Two Turtle Creek, 3838 Oak Lawn Avenue, Suite L150, Dallas 75219) or by calling the CCB offices at 214.526.5868, Ext. 18.

Once the applications are in hand, there will be a “brief prospective application orientation” at Communities Foundation of Texas (5500 Caruth Haven Lane) on Wednesday, September 13, starting at 9:00 a.m. Attendance is not “mandatory,” but veterans know that tips have been known to be part of the conversation.
Then it’s time to fill out the applications and have them mailed in or hand-delivered to the CCB offices by noon on Friday, October 13. And, no, applications cannot be sent via email.
Once the committee of 100 women has all the applications in hand, they undertake a vetting that some compare to an IRS audit.
There will be a series of presentations by candidate organizations on the following days:
- Round I – Wednesday, January 17, and Thursday, January 18, 2024
- Round II Agency Presentations – Wednesday, January 24, and Thursday, 25, 2024
- Final Round Agency Presentation – Thursday, February 1, 2024
All of that wear-and-tear will result in the announcement of the 2024 beneficiaries on Thursday, February 1.
But before marking all these dates on your calendars, remember that any agency must have the following requirements to qualify for consideration:
- Serve children in Dallas County.
- Have had a 501 (c) (3) designation for at least three years.
- Have provided services in Dallas County for at least three years.
If your organization meets these requirements, then circle Thursday, August 31, to get that application underway.
