Sorry if you missed today’s sold-out “Dollars Days” at the Dallas Zoo. Despite the heat, the animals were welcoming humans of all ages. Why, the penguins even did their fanciest splashes for the crowds.

In preparation for the stellar turnout, the Zoo-sters arranged ramped-up assistance for guests to wander the grounds in the “feels like 114 degrees” heat.
If you weren’t able to snatch up one of the 20,000 available tickets for today’s bargain visit, here’s your chance to grab a place or two for Dollar Days Part II that will be taking place on Tuesday, August 8. Here’s the link to locking down your place.
On the other hand, if your wild of Africa genes like friendly times and temperatures, then why not join up as a Dallas Zoo member. Not only do you get free admission, but free parking, too.
BTW, due to smothering summer heat, the Zoo is putting into place its Temporary Summer Admission Hours from Friday, July 14, to Thursday, August 31. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
And, no, it’s not because the animals and staff want to have a happy hour. It’s to “help our guests, animals, and staff avoid the heat of the summer days.”
