With cars lining all sides of the street in front of Anne and John McPherson‘s Highland Park contemporary on Tuesday, May 2, it was pretty obvious that a party was going on. Indeed, it was the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Fashion Show and Luncheon patron party with Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary President Jennifer Dix and Fashion Show Chair Kim Quinn greeting the non-stop arrivals including SAWA Founder Margot Perot, Amy Hegi, Laura Downing, Elizabeth Gambrell, Candace Winslow, Susan Farris, Suzy Gekiere, Lisa and Joe Bob Shirley and Majors Dawn and Paul McFarland.

Pretty soon the rooms were filled with shoulder-to-shoulder guests. After hitting the buffet in the dining room, one guest was seen balancing a napkin ladened with yummies atop his wine glass as he made this way through the throngs.
While 2023 SAWA first husband Richard Dix chatted with Honorary Co-Chairs Lisa and Clay Cooley, Tucker Enthoven, Therese Roark, Dyann Skelton and Liana Yarckin were seen around event sponsor Diamonds Direct’s gems on display on the steps leading to the living room.

As DD General Manager Matthew Cadwell helped guests on their selections, DD Regional Marketing Manager Mae Murrell was looking forward to the next day’s walk through for the Cattle Baron’s Ball Trailblazer which the jewelry store will be sponsoring.

Jennifer and Kim briefly addressed the group reporting that the sold-out fundraiser was exactly two weeks away and thanked their committee members and patrons for their support. They also recognized 2023 Margot Perot Community Service Awardee Michal Powell, Inaugural Legacy Awardee Jan Strimple and Robyn Chauvin, who would be succeeding Jan as the fashion show producer.
