In addition to everything from postal services to museums being in a deep freeze, thanks to this week’s Arctic blast resulting in treacherous driving and walking conditions, North Texas fundraising event planners have largely ducked the bullet. The reason is that there have been very few events scheduled for the first part of the week.
The hope was the frigid conditions would be “GWTW*” today.
But, oh, no! The deep chill has found a nice place to loll around, with night-time temperatures going below 32 degrees until Sunday.
With the threat of overnight freezing temperatures turning the slush on roads into another layer of ice, Thursday fundraisers are cautiously proceeding.
The folks at the Center for BrainHealth, whose job is making minds better, have decided to postpone Thursday’s Legacy Award Dinner at the Dallas Country Club to a date when things thaw out. The good news is that it will allow more folks to sign up for the fundraiser honoring Todd Platt and being chaired by Maria Vehslage and Andy Walsh along with Honorary Co-Chairs Sarah and Ross Perot Jr.
