According to Project Unity Director of Programs and Events Charlene Edwards,

“Project Unity is a collaborative community building movement among Dallas-area business, civic, philanthropic, religious, grassroots and local government organizations. We work and live by our motto which is simple: ‘what unites us is greater than what divides us.’ Everything we do is founded in our unyielding commitment to this belief. When we work in unity, we can overcome any challenge.

“Since our inception in 2014, we have been a leader in navigating through challenges to find solutions toward building and sustaining the communities we serve. And yet the combined forces of a global pandemic, heightened racial tensions, and economic decline continues to create the perfect storm in communities across America. Navigating through this unprecedented time creates both challenges and opportunities for businesses and individuals alike. Unfortunately, many of the communities we serve suffer due to lack of resources and access to the essentials needed to sustain a viable community.

Together We Ball**

“This is where our ‘hard work’ and ‘heart work’ comes in to play and where you can help make a difference!

Together We Learn**

“Our mission is to deliver community programming that incorporates dialogue, relationship building events, youth activities, public education, and neighborhood empowerment to build and sustain a stronger, more united community. Through our work we promote racial reconciliation and offer diversity, equity and inclusion opportunities via a series of programs and events themed ‘Together We …’  We offer Together We Ball, Together We Dine, Together We Learn, Together We Sing and Together We Can programs as ways you can get involved and make a difference.

Project Unity**

“Our advocacy for healthy communities, propelled us to introduce two new programs in 2020 and 2021: Together We Test and Together We Vaccinate. Both programs focused on addressing underserved or ‘desert’ communities where access to health care, COVID testing and COVID vaccines were limited. We recognize that the pandemic is not over, so we are poised to deploy our resources again to help keep our communities safe and healthy.

“We invite you to join the movement to help our communities thrive, grow and bridge divides along the lines of race relations and law enforcement relations. You will truly see your donation dollars at work by supporting Project Unity. ‘What unites us is greater than what divides us,’ says our founder Richie Butler, ‘That’s the underlying tenet of Project Unity and our mission to bring people together and create change by seeing each other as neighbors, not strangers.’ Together We…”
