JUST IN: 2022 Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Presents $400K Check To Salvation Army Of North Texas

Sep 28, 2022 3:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

Highland Park Village’s parking lot seemed a bit more filled than usual. Instead of heading to the ever-popular Starbucks for a cup of get-up-and-go java, ladies were heading to the Mockingbird Room. For some like Beth Thoele, it was their first visit to the upper-level office of Highland Park Village management. But they weren’t there to lease space for a shop.

Instead they were on hand for the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s 2022 grant presentation and the official hand-off of 2021-2022 SAWA President Elizabeth Gambrell and 2022 SAWA Fashion Show Chair Nikki Webb to 2022-2023 SAWA President Jennifer Dix and 2023 SAWA Fashion Show Chair Kim Quinn.

On hand to receive a check of $400,000 for the Salvation Army of North Texas was Major Dawn McFarland, who, along with her husband Major Paul McFarland, had assumed the organization’s leadership in July.

The 2022 Salvation Army of North Texas beneficiaries include Adult Rehabilitation Center, Arlington Youth, Carr P. Collins Harbor Light Corps, Denton, Friendship Houses, Garland, Irving, Lancaster/Fort Worth, Lewisville, Mabee Center/Fort Worth, McKinney, Northside/Fort Worth, NTX Area Command, Oak Cliff, Plano, Pleasant Grove and Waxahachie.
