JUST IN: Crystal Charity Ball Presents $2M+ Lead Gift For “Action Before Crisis” Initiative

Apr 20, 2022 3:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

In response to the Dallas county pediatric mental health crisis , The Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute and Children’s Health announced earlier this month the launch of a multimillion-dollar initiative: “Action Before Crisis – The Mental Health Collaboration for Children.”

The plan was to emphasize early identification of mental illness and treat children before they reach a breaking point.

As the Crystal Charity Ball was approaching its 70th anniversary, former CCB Chair Connie O’Neill took on the responsibility as facilitator of the Review and Recommendation group to prepare information about a signature project in honor of the CCB’s milestone year.

When presented at a general meeting of the membership, the CCB committed to raise $10M over the next five years for “Action Before Crisis.”

This afternoon, the lead gift of $2,025,000 was presented to Children’s Medical Center Foundation President Brent Christopher by 2021 CCB Chair Leslie Diers and 70th Anniversary CCB Chair Susan Farris.
