That Lawrence Bock sure knows how to stop traffic. On Thursday, September 16, instead of having valet parkers at his Dallas Bachendorf’s for the annual Cattle Baron’s Ball Live Auction reveal, he had a mobile bar set up serving Topo Chico cocktails.
As the crowd grew outside the jewelry salon in Preston Center East, Lawrence smiled. Had the temperature been ten degrees warmer, he wouldn’t have done it. But the weather was simply ideal leading up to the great reveal of the luxury auction packages coordinated by Live Auction Co-Chairs Marjon Henderson and Andrea Nayfa and their committee (Jennifer Burns, Kristen Gibbins, Lisa Hewitt and Paige Westhoff).
Pretty soon the Baronesses, like 2022 CBB Chair Nancy Gopez, Daniella Giglio, Lora Farris, 2006 CBB Chair Olivia Kerney, 2018 CBB Chair Sunie Solomon, Kristina Wrenn, Kelley Schadt and Katy Brooks, plus their friends, would head inside the air-conditioned store with its display cases of icy diamonds and jewelry to hear from 2020/2021 CBB Double Down Against Cancer Co-Chairs Diana Hamilton and Heather Randall about the upcoming American Cancer Society of North Texas fundraiser on Saturday, October 23, at Gilley’s, and to learn the specifics of the live auction.
Included in this year’s collection of live auction items are South Beach Wine and Food Festival, 2022 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, a Jet Linx/Omni Hotels getaway, 55th Annual Country Music Association Awards in November, Hasten Sleep Spa in Portugal, Auberge Sun and Ski, Best Seats in the House for Dierks Bentley on CBB’s Andrews Distributing Main Stage, Golfing at Bluejack National and Kentucky Derby Party, The Best BBQ Ever North Texas’ fav chefs, (Nick Barclay, Richard Chamberlain, Dean Fearing, Kevin Garvin, David Holben, Kent Rathbun and Jim Severson), NorthPark-Neiman Marcus-Truluck’s Sparkle/Shop/Savor package, Party for 200 at Gilleys, Saint Helena Winery Adventure, A Three-Stop Getaway (Montenegro, Maldives and Dubai), South African Hunting Safari, Jack Winery Experience, World of Hall luxury and Sapphire Splendor.
These goodies should make for a lively warm-up before Dierks Bentley performs on the Andrews Distributing Stage to raise funds for the American Cancer Society of North Texas.
