A couple of postponement notices were just sent in about North Texas events. In addition to today’s dedication of the newest basketball court at My Health My Resources Youth Recovery Campus hosted by the Mavs Foundation in partnership with Coca-Cola being postponed to “a future date,” Scottish Rite for Children’s Treasure Street 2021 scheduled for Thursday, October 7, has been postponed.

When it first took place 25 years ago, Treasure Street was “a small gathering” hosted by a patient’s family to “raise funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) Clinic at Scottish Rite for Children, where their daughter was being treated.” That first year, “each guest was asked to bring a personal ‘treasure’ to contribute to the silent auction. Items were displayed in a street fair arrangement, thus coining the ‘Treasure Street’ name. The event raised $150,000 in its first year.”
Thanks to their fundraising efforts, the hospital’s TSC Clinic serves as the model for clinics throughout the world.
Over the years Treasure Street’s popularity has become so successful that it in addition to becoming the hospitals’ signature fundraiser in 2007, it has raised more than $14M for all children treated at Scottish Rite for Children.
So, while you’re waiting for the new date to be revealed, check out the ways that you can support this “treasure” of North Texas.
