No sooner had Lisa Loy Laughlin finished up co-chairing the Equest Gala this past Saturday at Texas Horse Park than she saddled up to ride herd on another fundraiser. It was just revealed that Lisa will be chairing the 2022 Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon and Fashion show “Make a Statement.”
In accepting the role, LLL said, “I am honored to serve as the 2022 St. Valentine’s Day luncheon chair, which will help raise awareness and funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission of finding cures for cancer and help improve the quality of life of patients and their families.”
Despite having just been named to the role, she revealed that Highland Park Village will return as the fashion show sponsor with Jan Strimple producing the runway show at the Meyerson, followed by a seated luncheon.
Next year’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of North Texas fundraiser is perfectly timed, taking place on Monday, February 7, getting folks in the mood for the real Valentine’s Day.
Over the past 38 years, the event founded by Janet Evans and Rusty Duvall has provided more than $38M for blood cancer research in North Texas including at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Thanks to these funds and other efforts, “some patient survival rates have doubled and countless advances have been made with new safer treatments for patients.”
While sponsorships and tables won’t be available until Thursday, July 1, it’s just never too early to start shopping for that red and/or pink outfit to “make a statement.”
