As way too many are chattering because of “rolling power outages,” creative juices are continuing to flow in new directions. Some folks are actually recalling what their parents and grandparents did before there was a Siri or an Alexa.
It’s times like these when an old fashioned bed warming pan would be the absolute must in any boudoir.
One person dug through her closet and found flannel sheets. She said it made a world of difference from her regular-1,000 thread linens.
Another used her noggin and prepared for any brief “power up.” She lined up a half dozen insulated coffee containers, tea bags, bullion cubes and measuring cups with water. When the lights came on at midnight for a few minutes, she heated up the water, popped in the cubes or tea bags, mixed and poured it into the containers. That way she had something warm to drink a little later.
Still another more senior gal remembered that she had used a rubber water bag years ago. She was relieved to see that she hadn’t thrown it out. Filled it with hot water and put it under the covers.
BTW, if you have ever had a muscle ailment, you may have used one of those microwavable cushions or pads. If so, nuke it. There are no instructions that require muscle pains for it to be used.
If you’re frustrated with the situation, you’re part of the in crowd. But take heart. The end is in sight.
