Atmos Energy Donates $50,000 To Support Trusted World’s Helping People Facing Situational Poverty

Nov 25, 2020 11:30 AM by Jeanne Prejean

Garland-based Trusted World is glowing with gratuity. The reason is Atmos Energy. No, they’re not getting a truckload of gas. It’s better than that during this time of individuals and families facing situational poverty due to the months of pandemic. Atmos just donated $50,000 to support Trusted World mission of “providing the best resources, at no cost, to people or organizations who are providing services on someone else’s behalf.”

Michael Garrett and Eva Hummel*

Since COVID-19’s landing in North Texas, “Trusted World has delivered more than 158,026 lbs. of food to individuals and families in need.

According to Trusted World CEO/Founder Michael Garrett, “Over the last seven months, we have provided resources to 5,381 people in need.  As time goes on and winter approaches, we know that number to increase substantially. We are so grateful to Atmos Energy for stepping up and helping us help people in North Texas; without the assistance of our donors, we would not be able to support our community this way.”

Thanks to the donation, Trusted World will be able to provide clothing, hygiene and food for children, families and senior citizens facing hardship.

Atmos Energy Public Affairs Manager Eva Hummel explained, “Through our Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities program, we are focused on nourishing our children and families in need. Atmos Energy is grateful for our local nonprofit partner whose commitment is to ensure children have access to healthy snacks, fresh produce and hearty balanced meals.”
