This weekend is going to be a topsy-turvy-temperature event with highs ranging from the 60s to the 80s. But come Monday, the first cold shoulder of winter will be at the doorstep, barely making it to 60. Why, by Tuesday, the weather guessers are actually hinting that the day’s high will only be in the 40s.
So why not use the weekend to prepare for the chillier times by going through the closet and reintroducing yourself to those luscious woolly slacks, cashmere sweaters and toasty duvets.
If you find your wardrobe and blankets are a bit dated, consider donating them to one of the area nonprofit shelters. Not only will you help someone in need, you’ll have room in your closet for your new purchases!
And what about a change in your menus? Making some homemade soup would be the perfect complement to that bread-making machine you’ve mastered during the past few months. “Add A Pinch” Robyn Stone has created what’s got to be one of the simplest vegetable soup recipes just made for cold days. It’s not only low in fat and calories, it’s delicious. What you don’t eat, you can freeze for a later date or, better yet, share with your elderly neighbors and friends.
