After spending way too much time at home in recent months, some folks might be thinking it’s time for a furniture facelift. That couch has seen better days? That hardwood floor is just begging for a nice rug. Instead of using the dining-room table for remote work, it might be nice to have a real desk. And that end table is in desperate need of a lamp.
Thanks to Dwell with Dignity, those needs might just be found at the 2020 Thrift Studio at the 12,000-square-foot International on Turtle Creek. From Friday, August 28, to Saturday, September 26, the annual furnishings pop-shop will showcase “luxuriously-furnished vignettes designed by North Texas’ top designers, showrooms and retailers, as well as a curated selection of fine art from prestigious local artists.”
Joining 2020 Honorary Chair Shay Geyer will be showcase interior designers Cathy Kincaid of Cathy Kincaid Interiors; Leslie Jenkins of Jenkins Interiors; Mia Brous, Kerri Goldfarb and Louise Marsh of Madre Dallas; Monica Wilcox of Monica Wilcox Design; Morgan Farrow of Morgan Farrow Interiors; Josh Pickering of Pickering House Interiors; Twelve Twenty and Lindley Whisenant Arthur of Lindley Arthur Interiors.
Serving as art co-chairs are ALG Collective artists Anna Curnes, Melissa Ellis, Annie Griffeth and Christi Meril, who be joined by 2020 Thrift Studio artists displaying their work — Alec DeJesus, Ana Sadeh, Anne Beletic, Brandon Harris, Brenda Bogart, Carolyn Daniel, Charlie French, Dr. David L. Henderson, Ginger Ray Walker, Hannah Brown, Janie Stidham, Jenny Grumbles, Laura Goodson, Linda Chidsey, Lindsey Meyer, Marcy Cook, Melissa Auberty, Mione Plant, Rachel Nash, Ross von Rosenberg and Taelor Fisher.
While the VIP Preview Party on Wednesday, August 27, is already sold out, the opening night party from 6 to 8 p.m. is still available with tickets going for $125.
The pop-up shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday during its month-long run with the exception of Labor Day (Monday, September 7).
While the checking out of the goodies is absolutely free, 100% cent of the purchases benefits Dwell With Dignity.
