Try as they might, sometimes gals just can’t be in two places at the same time. That’s exactly the situation in which Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary President Margaret Hancock and SAWA Fashion Show Chair Kim Hext found themselves on Tuesday, February 4.
While the Crystal Charity Ball new members were brunching with the committee chairs at Robyn Conlon, Margaret and Kim were Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Winter Meeting and Fashion Presentation at Tootsies.
Before the spring fashions were presented on locals supporters, Kim, Margaret and Salvation Army North Texas Command Major Barbara Rich share news about plans for the 2020 Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Meyerson on Monday, May 11.
Margaret thanked Tootsies’ Nerissa von Helpenstill and Dustin Holcomb for not only hosting the event, but also receiving “gently loved couture clothing and accessories” until Saturday, March 14. In return, the donors would receive a $25 Tootsies gift certificate. Their support would continue on the day of the fashion show, when they will help manage the Chic Boutique.
With the enthusiasm of a cheerleader, Kim invited all to a number of events leading up to the fundraising fashion show. Starting Thursday, February 6, the Warehouse Sorting would get underway that would start on Thursday, February 6. There is also to be a “Get-A-Bag-Give-A-Bag” featuring the Barfield Collection. She had already scheduled the fashion show’s Patron Party to take place on Tuesday, April 28.
Other events on the calendar for the Auxiliary included the VA Visitation on Monday, February 10, and the membership coffee on Tuesday, April 7, featuring a preview of the fashion show’s silent auction items.
Nerissa and Dustin then took over with began the Spring Trends Fashion Presentation with spring fashions modeled by auxiliary members including Christina Cotten, Susan Rogers, Betsy Willis, Lauren Arthur, Bela Cooley, Janie Condon, Georgia Davis, Nancy Gopez, Katherine Coker and Nancy Bierman. According to the Tootsies twosome, spring trends will be highlighted by bold graphics, black and white prints, shirt dresses, sleeves and ruffle details, flirty and fun.
